Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing or quality inspection.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards and aerospace regs.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools and document NCRs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft and spacecraft components, assemblies, and vehicles.
  • Verify products meet engineering specifications, manufacturing work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Identify defects, document inspection findings, and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
  • Review manufacturing records, work orders, and quality documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to communicate inspection results and product acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure all parts and materials are properly identified, tracked, and controlled in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by adhering to FAA, company, and aerospace quality procedures.

Job Description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring aircraft and spacecraft components, assemblies, and vehicles meet all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements before being approved for use. This role performs receiving, in-process, and final inspections, verifies compliance with engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications, identifies defects, documents nonconformances, and supports root cause investigations. The inspector works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance teams to maintain airworthiness, product integrity, and adherence to FAA and aerospace quality standards.

Skills and Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, aircraft maintenance, MRO, airline, or quality inspection environments.

  • Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality standards.

  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques, nonconforming material processes, and quality control procedures.

  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and inspection equipment. - FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
