Job summary

AerSale is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to ensure airworthiness and quality across its MRO activities in a fast-paced aviation environment. You will perform prescribed inspection functions, verify tooling, and oversee work in progress to maintain compliance and safety.

Applicants should have an A&P license and several years of Part 145 inspection experience, with strong data interpretation, audits, and documentation skills. DOT safety requirements apply.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with two years as QA/QC inspector in a Part 145 organization.
  • 2–5 years of performing inspections in an MRO environment.
  • Experience interpreting technical data, SBs, ADs and military TOs.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or AS9110 standards.
  • Ability to perform internal audits and RCCA understanding is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate various test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned inspection functions per airworthiness and serviceability standards.
  • Familiar with 14 CFR 145 regs and inspection methods and tools.
  • Oversee surveillance of all work in progress.
  • Ensure maintenance record entries per 43.9 or 43.11 are completed.
  • Perform receiving inspection of new or used parts for articles.
  • Verify calibrated tooling used is current.
  • Brief technicians on quality issues; ensure quality work by personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Chief Inspector.
  • Safety sensitive position: pre-employment and periodic DOT drug/alcohol testing.

Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned inspection functions in accordance with the prescribed standards of airworthiness and serviceability.
  • Familiarity with the applicable 14CFR 145 regulations and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness.
  • Responsible for the surveillance of all work in progress.
  • Ensure that the maintenance record entry required by £ 43.9 or £ 43.11, as appropriate, is completed, accept or reject work accomplished for all items generated on the inspection forms.
  • Perform receiving inspection of new or used parts intended for use on articles.
  • Verify calibrated tooling used is current.
  • Brief technicians on quality issues and ensure the maintenance personnel perform quality work.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment and periodic DOT regulations for drug and alcohol testing.

Relationships:
  • Reports to Chief Inspector
  • Daily interaction with Quality Inspectors, Engineers and buyers.
  • Daily interaction with internal departments

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma/GED, with two years as an QA/QC inspector in a Part 145 organization, knowledge of 8130-3 & COC certification.
  • 2-5 years of performing inspections and experienced In-Process Inspections in MRO environment.
  • Experienced in interpreting technical data, service bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and military Technical Orders (TOs).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or AS9110 standards.
  • Ability to perform internal audits and understating of root cause/correction action analysis (RCCA) methodologies is a plus.
  • Certificated under 14 CFR Part 65, A&P License required and must be current as required by 14 CFR Part 65.83.
  • Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to operate various test equipment.
Abilities and Skills:
  • Excellent verbal, writing, listening and interpersonal skills to interact with all functional levels of internal contacts.
  • Detail orientated and organized.
  • Computer literate. and proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Willing to work additional hours when operational objectives require it.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with ability to exercise informed risk taking in order to make judgment calls.
  • Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision.
  • Must be multi-task/project oriented with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced industry meeting established timelines.
  • Must be able to use/understand Technical Publications, ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids is required.
  • Proficient in Quality Control Administrative duties such as performing Internal audits.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull, stack, reach above shoulder level or carry light-weight materials.
  • Due to regulatory requirements of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Safety Hazards of the job
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals, abrasive blast residue, paint fumes, high pitch sound may occur. Personal Protective Equipment required in specified areas.
