Job summary

Qualifications

  • FAA Repairman Certification required.
  • Associates degree or equivalent or 4 years related experience.
  • Experience enforcing ISO 9000/AS9100 quality standards.
  • Ability to supervise inspection activities and train staff.
  • Strong root cause analysis and documentation skills.
  • Comfort working in warehouse environment and interfacing with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Review ship/rec findings and disposition rework or scrap.

The Lead Inspector will ensure that all incoming and outgoing materials go through the proper levels of inspection, according to both AAR and ISO 9000 standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Lead outgoing and/or incoming inspection.
  • Process incoming and outgoing material.
  • Enforce Quality Control requirements per the ISO 9000 and customer requirements per the ISO 9000 and customer requirements manual.
  • Administer effective training and on the job training of Quality Control inspectors.
  • Assist the Quality Management team in reviewing and updating department standards.
  • Interface with different departments in ACSW
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Day-to-day departmental supervision
  • Lead and coordinate daily inspection activities across the shop (i.e. in process inspections, discrepancies, etc.)
  • Ensure adherence to AS9100, FAA, EASA, and company-specific quality standards. (All Procedures and Work Instructions associated with the Inspection department)
  • Provide technical guidance on inspection procedures, documentation, and root cause analysis.
  • Foster a safety- and quality-focused culture across inspection teams. (Lead by example)
  • Review Ship/Rec findings upon receipt or shipment
  • Support the Internal Audit Program
  • Be a part of root cause investigations
  • Ensure timely disposition and follow-up on rework or scrap items (Form 10 process included)
  • Analyze inspection results and trends to recommend process improvements and defect reduction.
  • Review and approve inspection reports, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and quality logs. (already doing)
  • Maintain a calibrated tooling and consumables list for the department
  • Report Quality Matrix to management
  • Participate in First Article Inspections (FAI) and new product introduction (NPI) evaluations.
  • Purchase order requests
  • Coordinate Boeing Source / Exostar
  • Various minor tasks from Supervisor / Director.

  • FAA Repairman Certification.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
