Job description

You notice the particulars others don’t. L&E Engineering is on the move for a Quality Inspector with metal manufacturing experience that refuses to settle for good enough. The individual that will join our fast-paced team has no issue leading others to accountability because right is right. It’s the standard you set for yourself and it’s how to determine if others measure up.

At L&E Engineering the Quality Inspector is a very important position. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the parts we create match our customer requirements and no detail is missed. If it looks wrong, it probably is. If the product doesn’t match the print, you’re solving the problem and getting it corrected. If it’s not within tolerance, it’s not right, and you won’t stop until it is. If everything’s on target you’re the first to hand out high fives.

We’re looking for the perfect Quality Control Inspector that spends each day thinking through the eyes of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure conformance on precision aerospace components using visual and dimensional inspection per applicable customer specifications.
  • Performs receiving, in-process, and final inspections using fixed or variable measuring instruments checking for irregularities and defects.
  • Must be able to work from complex and detailed blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively communicates with peers and interdepartmental personnel maintaining a cohesive team environment.
  • Assists with other quality related functions upon supervisor or managerial request

  • Other Ad hoc duties as required


Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have Quality Inspection experience
  • Familiarity with metal manufacturing processes
  • Must be able to use Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, etc., and Surface Plate Layout techniques
  • Intermediate level skills with MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


Physical Demands

  • Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and stand on a daily basis
  • Able to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, etc
  • Able to successfully pass vision screens
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.


Schedule

  • Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • OT possible on Friday


Eligibility Requirements:

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Ferco Aerospace will require proof of status prior to employment.
