Job description

What You Will Do:

  • Perform “First Piece” inspection throughout assigned Product Group Line / Value Stream
  • Perform “Final” inspection throughout assigned Product Group Line / Value Stream
  • Assist Product Group Line / Value Stream in quality problem resolution
  • Perform in-process audits throughout Product Group Line / Value Stream
  • Document all inspection and testing results
  • Maintain all document files and test records accurately
  • Initiate non-conformance reports and assist in corrective/preventive action report determination
  • Perform 100% inspection/sorting as required
  • Assist with writing and updating inspection procedures and checklists
  • Support actively all H-F Continuous Improvement efforts
  • Verify with Gage Calibration that all inspection standards/gages are calibrated and kept up to date

Quality Inspector Position Details:

  • 4-day, 10-hour shift, Monday - Thursday, 4:15 pm - 3:00 am (Must be able to train on 1st shift)

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Drug and alcohol test
  • Criminal background check
  • Education verification
  • Employment verification

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent education and/or experience
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Good computer skills
  • Knowledge of blueprints and technical drawings
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to use and read calipers, micrometers, rulers, and gages
  • Understanding of fractions and decimals
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Maintain good attendance, initiative, and productivity
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk most of the day
  • Stand for up to 8 hours or more
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Must be able to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers for inspection tasks
  • This role is safety sensitive and may require drug testing
