Job summary

VMC Group is seeking a Quality Inspector to support production and test manufactured goods. You will use basic inspection tools and gauges to ensure parts meet specifications and carry out in-process and final inspections.

Responsibilities include MRB handling, documentation, inspection of incoming materials, and releasing product to shipping. Strong attention to detail and ability to read blueprints are essential. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years of mechanical inspection experience preferred.
• Experience with ISO 9001 a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assure materials meet criteria and verify traceability.
• Inspect incoming materials and components per plans.
• Initiate and manage MRB process.
• Conduct in-process and final product inspection.
• Verify dimensions, components, and color.
• Sample in-process goods to verify specs.
• Identify non-conforming products.
• Document inspection results and logs.
• Release product to shipping after final sign-off.
• Collect quality data on accepts and rejects.

The Quality Inspector works in conjunction with other QA personnel to support production and test manufactured goods. The Quality Inspector will use basic mechanical inspection tools and gauges to ensure a successful product line.

The Quality Inspector works in conjunction with other QA personnel to support production and test manufactured goods. The Quality Inspector will use basic mechanical inspection tools and gauges to ensure a successful product line.

Responsibilities Not Limited To

• Assurance of material criteria establishment
• Inspects incoming raw materials and components for conformance verification of traceability to existing inspection plans, customer/VMC drawings, sales and purchase orders
• Initiate and manage the MRB (Material Review Board) process
• In Process Product Inspection
• Inspects the integrity of the product to the order with respect to dimensions, correct components, color, etc.
• Randomly samples the 'in process product' to ensure specifications and dimensional checks
• Identifies manufactured products that do not meet quality specifications
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste
• Final Product Inspection
• Ensures final product meets the specific customer order
• Reviews the final sign off on the traveler or work order to release the product to shipping.
• Collects quality data for accept and reject rates in all areas

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
• Working knowledge of calibration of gauges and ability to use calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply knowledge to inspection of products
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 symbology

Minimum Qualifications
