Job summary

A leading company in the Defence and Aerospace sector is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to ensure product compliance and quality standards. Candidates will be responsible for conducting inspections, maintaining compliance with AS9100 and AS9102 standards, and reporting findings. Job description

Quality Inspector - Dorchester

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Working with a well-established company operating within the Defence and Aerospace arena. They are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team. Apply if interested.

The Role:

1. Ensure all products conform to customer drawings and specifications, including complex aerospace parts.
2. Perform inspections using multiple measurement devices, such as handheld equipment (Micrometers, Verniers, Plug & Thread gauges), Shadowgraphs, and Height Gauges.
3. Carry out First Offs, In-Process, Goods Inwards, and Final Inspections according to customer drawings and specifications.
4. Prepare and execute FAIRs to AS9102 standards.
5. Support all Quality Assurance systems to ensure compliance with AS9100, as well as all company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
6. Maintain a clean and organized workspace (5S), including cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
7. Ensure proper authorities (training and skills) are in place to carry out the role under QMS regulations.
8. Report inspection findings to senior management when required.

The Candidate:

1. Aerospace experience is ideal but not essential.
2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
3. Understanding of GD&T.
4. Experience with FAIR creation and completion to AS9102 standards.
5. Familiarity with Modus CMM programming.
6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
7. Experience in Metrology, Calibration, and Gauge Control is advantageous.
