Job summary

DuPont Spectrum in Pittsfield, MA is seeking an Inspector to evaluate incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products for conformance to specifications. You will use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs to inspect components, document results, and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and familiarity with GD&T and ISO 13485.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework in quality or metrology preferred.
• 1–3 years of inspection or quality experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment (medical device, aerospace, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T and inspection techniques.
• Familiarity with statistical tools, SPC, and quality systems (ISO 13485) is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality software tools (e.g., ERP systems like IQMS).

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts, components and products using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs (as applicable).
• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections based on control plans, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Accurately document inspection results, including non-conformances, in inspection logs or quality databases
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with GDP (Good Documentation Practices) and safety policies
• Participate in audits, calibration activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Communicate quality concerns clearly to production, engineering, and quality leadership
• Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and follow 5S principles
