Hi-Tech Manufacturing, LLC is seeking a seasoned Quality/Inspection Manager in the San Jose, CA area to lead QA programs in a manufacturing setting. You will drive inspection planning, process improvements, and cross-functional coordination to deliver quality products on schedule.

The role requires 5–10 years in quality and inspection management, with a proven track record in QA, ISO compliance, and team leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of progressive operational and management experience in the Quality and Inspection function.
  • Proven track record in the management of quality assurance and inspection.

  • Establish and maintain safe working environment.
  • Develop and plan inspections by setting priority and assigning appropriate skill level to produce a quality product in spec and on time.
  • Implement processes to improve ability to inspect product, with consistent and appropriate results in relation to requirements.
  • Communicate and implement company policies, procedures, and objectives. Facilitate the flow of fact-based information.
  • Continuous improvement activity using DMAIC or PDCA methodologies.
  • Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
  • Establish maintenance requirements for equipment and facility with Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Assess employee performance and conduct performance reviews; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Coach and develop personnel to upgrade skills for current and future requirements.
  • Measure and manage productivity and resource allocation, including overtime control.
  • Review inspection procedures to optimize outputs and efficiency.
  • Interface with other departments to optimize production and process improvement.
  • Work toward safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Ensure ISO9001:2008 and ISO13485:2003 certification compliance.
  • Ensure safety and OSHA compliance.
  • Be a team player and perform related duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish and maintain safe working environment
  • Develop and plan inspections by setting priority and assigning appropriate skill level to produce a quality product in spec and on time
  • Implement processes to improve ability to inspect product, with consistent and appropriate results in relation to requirements
  • Communicate and implement company policies, procedures, and objectives. Facilitate the flow of fact-based information
  • Continuous improvement activity using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve & Control (DMAIC) methodology or Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
  • Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions
  • Establish maintenance requirements for equipment and facility in conjunction with Engineering and Maintenance personnel. Ensure timely maintenance is performed and proper records are maintained
  • Assess employee performance, provide frequent constructive feedback to employees, and conduct performance reviews. Implement corrective and disciplinary action as warranted
  • Identify and implement necessary personnel coaching, training and development to upgrade and maintain employee skill levels to keep pace with current and future company requirements.
  • Measure and manage productivity and the allocation of resources, including the control of overtime and hiring of personnel
  • Review inspection procedures to ensure optimum output from resources, employee relations
  • Maintain effective interface with other operations supervisors and other departments (i.e., Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service) to optimize production and process improvement activity
  • Work to continuously improve in all areas such as safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction
  • ISO9001:2008 and ISO13485:2003 certification and compliance
  • Safety and OSHA compliance
  • Must be a team player as measured by his/her peers
  • Performs other related duties assigned
Requirements
REQUIRED
  • 5 to 10 years of progressive operational and management experience in the Quality and Inspection function.
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Proven track record in the management of quality assurance and inspection

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sitting/Standing/Walking

  • Approximately 50% is spent seated at a desk, working on the telephone or at a computer terminal
  • Approximately 50% is spent bending, squatting, standing, or moving about the work area

Speaking/Hearing

  • Ability to speak read and write English fluently
  • Clear diction, correct grammar and acute haring are necessary for effective communication with clients, vendors, management, and other employees

Vision

  • Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary to effectively use computer screens, read reports and responding to correspondence and emails

Working conditions are normal for an office/manufacturing environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
