Job summary

Baptist Health Citizens Hospital is seeking a leader in Quality Services and Infection Prevention to oversee hospital-wide infection prevention programs and quality initiatives in Talladega, Alabama.

The role focuses on developing policies, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement in collaboration with nursing, medical staff, and leadership. A clinical degree and CIC certification within three years are preferred to drive patient-safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical field is required.
• Active nursing license preferred.
• CIC certification within three years of hire is preferred.
• Experience with infection prevention and quality initiatives in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Communicates quality and safety initiatives to all team members and physicians.
• Develops and monitors action plans for clinical quality and infection prevention improvement.
• Leads implementation of strategies focused on quality, safety, and service across departments.
• Collaborates with performance improvement teams and quality councils to identify and act on improvement opportunities.
• Monitors quality scorecards and Board metrics; participates in and leads improvement activities.
• Ensures compliance with infection control practices and regulatory standards (JCAHO, AHCA, OSHA, CMS, CDC).
• Develops and maintains health system policies meeting national infection control standards.
• Educates employees on infection prevention practices and regulatory requirements.
• Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with medical staff, hospital leadership, and allied health/support services.
