Job summary

UCSF Health seeks a Quality Improvement (QI) Specialist to support the BCH Quality Improvement Committee and collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders. You will coach departments, escalate issues, and help deploy standard practices while applying Lean/IHI methods to improve workflows.

Strong communication, data analysis, and project management skills are essential to advance patient safety across BCH, with accountability to the BCH Director of Quality Improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare or equivalent clinical education/experience.
• Minimum 2 years of project management, process improvement, or quality improvement experience.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the department.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication skills to convey clinical/technical information in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Support BCH QIC and coaches in preparing committee reports and escalation of concerns.
• Lead or assist in follow-up of system issues requiring deeper problem solving.
• Apply quality improvement methods and deploy standard practices across departments/sites.
• Contribute to project management, meeting facilitation, and data analysis activities.
• Support improvement work aligned with strategic priorities and patient safety goals.
