Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Quality Improvement Specialist to advance quality, safety, and operational excellence. You will partner with clinical and non‑clinical teams to identify improvement opportunities, analyze performance data, and lead change initiatives that measurably improve patient care and experience.

The role supports both clinical and non‑clinical areas and requires collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in healthcare related field.
  • 2 years of Quality improvement, performance improvement, project management or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in healthcare related field (preferred).
  • RN – State of Michigan (preferred).
  • 1 year of participation on improvement initiatives (preferred).
  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - IHI, IHI Open School (preferred).
  • CPHQ - NAHQ certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Supports and drives improvement activities for accountable areas based on organizational priorities (project management, measurable deliverables, milestones, and data informed strategy).
  • Serves as a liaison between various departments across the Corewell Health System. Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a change agent to key stakeholders. Also ensures continuity and coordination of services with appropriate utilization of resources. Responsible for stakeholder management across collaboration within dept and organizational resources.
  • Drives continuous assessment and improvements using appropriate tools and methodology within the business, assists stakeholders and process owners in prioritizing improvement opportunities.
  • Competent at improvement science to drive quality performance in regulatory, accreditation and publicly reported programs.
  • Analyze, interpret and communicate benchmarked quality data and trends to identify opportunities and improve outcomes.
  • Continuously develop quality improvement knowledge and skills for the organization.
  • Support strategic quality goal setting to influence strategic priorities.
  • Support compliance of accreditation/TJC for quality chapters.

Job description

This role follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of approximately two days per week on site. On-site requirements may vary based on business needs, team meetings, training, and operational priorities.

In this dynamic position, you'll partner with clinical and non-clinical teams to identify opportunities for improvement, lead meaningful change initiatives, analyze performance data, and help drive measurable outcomes that enhance the care and experience of the patients and communities we serve.

Supports projects throughout the organization including both clinical and non-clinical areas to accomplish measurable quality improvement. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing processes and helps to develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable clinical quality improvement. Collects and analyzes process and quality data to initiate, develop, and recommend operational practices and procedures that focus on enhanced quality outcomes.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in healthcare related field
  • RN – State of Michigan

  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), IHI Open School
  • CRT-Professional in Healthcare Quality, Certified (CPHQ) - NAHQ National Association for Healthcare Quality Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
