Job summary

Akumin, a nationwide outpatient radiology and oncology services provider, is seeking a Quality Program Manager to advance patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across our imaging centers.

You will lead audits, drive quality improvement projects, and partner with clinical and operations teams to implement solutions that meet Joint Commission, OSHA, and infection control standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in healthcare/QI.
  • Three years of related experience; radiology or healthcare provider preferred.
  • Management experience in healthcare operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; mentoring on QI.
  • Analytical, data-driven problem solving.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards in diagnostic imaging.
  • OSHA and workplace safety knowledge.
  • FMEA knowledge.
  • CQI principles understood.
  • Facilitation skills and internal auditing knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a schedule and conducts site and system audits.

With a national footprint, cutting-edge technology, and a strong commitment to innovation and patient-centered care, our teams play a vital role in improving outcomes for millions of patients each year.About the RoleThe Quality Program Manager plays a critical role in advancing Akumin's commitment to operational excellence, patient safety, and regulatory compliance across our national network of imaging centers and healthcare services. This position leads quality improvement initiatives, supports accreditation readiness efforts, conducts audits and assessments, and partners with operational leaders to drive continuous improvement. The successful candidate will leverage data, analytics, and healthcare quality best practices to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and ensure consistent adherence to Joint Commission, OSHA, infection control, and other regulatory standards. This role is ideal for a highly organized healthcare professional who is passionate about quality, compliance, and improving outcomes for both patients and team members.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Maintains a schedule and conducts site and system audits. Ensures surveillance is occurring at all types of field operations including fixed sites, mobile operations and support systems such as Patient Services, Supply Chain and Managed Care.Based on data analysis of organization quality metrics, leads and oversees corporate quality improvement teams in the quality improvement process. Manages complex and/or multiple projects/initiatives, including: Ensures project goals, outcomes and objectives are accomplished, Develops and monitors project plan, Tracks project status, identifies and resolves barriers, Assures milestones are met within prescribed timeframes and budget constraints, Updates appropriate parties on project statusServes as an expert for the accreditation process (including Joint Commission and any other accreditations sought by the company) maintaining survey readiness and educating team members on the standards. Tracks manager compliance of unit system checklists, Site Specific Hazard Vulnerability Assessments and code drills.Participates in the organization wide infection control program by contributing to the annual Infection Control Risk Assessment.Other related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent ExperienceThree (3) years related experience; preferably with a background in radiology or healthcare provider experience.Management experience in operations within the healthcare industryStrong communication skills; both verbal and written including the ability to teach and mentor on QI principles and program activitiesStrong qualitative and quantitative analytical and problem solving abilityOrganizational skills & Attention to DetailKnowledge and understanding of Internal Quality Auditing by processFacilitation skillsKnowledge and understanding of Joint Commission standards as they apply to diagnostic imagingKnowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements as they apply to accident investigation and workplace safetyKnowledge and understanding of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)Knowledge of CQI principlesTeam player who builds effective working relationships with internal and external customers at all levelsPreferred Qualifications:CPHQ certification preferredAt Akumin, we invest in the well-being of our employees, so you can bring your best self to work each day.
