Job summary

Hearth Australia is seeking a Quality Improvement and Compliance Manager to lead accreditation, governance and continuous improvement across the organisation. This role is based in Glen Iris with occasional travel to other Hearth offices and participant locations.

You will set and uphold standards for compliance, safety and quality, building a culture of accountability. A relevant degree and NDIS experience are essential; Australian working rights are required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in health, disability or related field.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accreditation programs, internal audits, and quality management systems.
  • Lead risk assessments, continuous improvement initiatives, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Coordinate incident reporting, investigations, and Commission submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, Safeguards, and OHS requirements.
  • Lead staff training, supervision and competency across teams.
  • Foster a culture of quality, safety and clinical governance.

Are you a seasoned quality leader who thrives on driving safety, compliance, and best practice?

Hearth Australia is seeking an experienced Quality Improvement and Compliance Manager to join our Quality team who will lead our accreditation, governance, and continuous improvement functions across the organisation.

In this pivotal role, you will set and uphold standards for compliance, safety, and continuous improvement while shaping a culture of quality and accountability across both head office and support teams.

You will be primarily based in our Glen Iris office, with occasional travel required to our other Hearth offices and participant locations when required.

What You’ll Lead and Drive in your role:
  • Oversee accreditation programs, internal audits, and quality management systems.
  • Drive compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, Safeguards Commission requirements, OHS legislation, and organisational policies.
  • Lead risk assessments, continuous improvement initiatives, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, and Commission submissions.
  • Coordinate reportable incidents, restrictive practices, and behaviour support compliance.
  • Build a culture of quality, safety, clinical excellence, and workforce capability.

Our Key Selection Criteria for the role:
  • Proven experience in a Senior Quality, Governance or Compliance role
  • Qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Nursing or related field
  • Experience in NDIS, Aged Care or Community Services
Strong knowledge of:
  • NDIS Practice Standards
  • High Intensity Support Skill Descriptors
  • Implementing behaviour support plans and restrictive practices
  • Child Safe Standards
  • Human rights-based frameworks
  • Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused
  • Collaborative and confident in working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Clinical governance and quality system leadership
  • Risk management, incident oversight and OHS leadership
  • Strong planning, documentation and stakeholder management
  • Ability to influence, train, and uplift standards across teams
Mandatory requirements
