Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an inspection technician to verify conformance of incoming, in-process, and finished components. You will inspect products from approved suppliers using calibrated devices and an approved sampling plan, raising non-conformances and quarantining non-conforming items as needed.

The role supports the Repair Station Quality Manager and collaborates across teams to uphold stringent quality standards, with opportunities to participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Detail oriented with strong communication skills.
• Product inspection experience or technical background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products from approved suppliers using measuring devices and a predetermined sampling plan.
• Verify conformance of arriving, in-process, and completed products per methods and specifications.
• Raise notifications of non-conformances, quarantine non-conforming product, and provide disposition when approved.
• Assist with coordination of non-conforming product control activities.
• Perform reviews and assessments of area/program performance; identify and address improvement needs.
• Collaborate internally to ensure quality standards are in effect.
• Report to the Repair Station Quality Manager and support other duties as delegated.

What You Will Do:

• Performs inspection of products received from approved suppliers using a variety of measuring devices and an approved sampling plan.
• Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and specifications to verify conformance of arriving, in-process, and completed products.
• Raises notifications of non-conformances, quarantines non-conforming product and, when approved to do so, provides disposition. Assists with the coordination of non-conforming product control activities.
• Performs reviews and assessments of area/program performance. Identifies and addresses when a need for improvement is identified.
• Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect.
• Reports directly to, and supports other duties where delegated by, the Repair Station Quality Manager.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Eligible for an FAA Repairmen Certification per 14 CFR Part 65.
• Must be detail oriented with good communication skills.
• Product inspection experience or technical background is preferred.
