Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC in Ladson, South Carolina seeks a Quality Inspector to conduct in-process quality inspections of vans, identify defects, and log results in computer systems. You will collaborate with production to raise awareness of quality issues and drive effective resolutions.

Responsibilities include inspecting points, entering data, evaluating defect severity, and coordinating with process owners to verify corrections and determine next steps.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years manufacturing process experience.
• Inspection experience preferred.
• Significant MBV product knowledge.
• Knowledge in the application of quality inspection methods.
• Basic computer skills; use of MS Office required.
• Ability to work in teams.
• People and persuasion skills.
• Assertiveness in difficult situations.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend checklist inspection points and locate inspection areas.
• Enter data into a computer unassisted.
• Identify, evaluate and determine defect severity using Van Benchmark Catalog NQ rating scale.
• Conduct inspections within the established takt time.
• Input defects into QSYS and on FBK.
• Clear defects in QSYS and on FBK.
• Inspect FBKs for conformance to stamping requirements.
• Identify the correct process owner for a defect and communicate with them.
• Verify correction of defects in-station.
• Determine next process step for vehicles with defects (light tunnel/EOL only).
