Job Description:

FabCab Quality Gate Inspectors are responsible for reviewing Sales Orders, approved Prints, Bills of Materials, and other build information against what has been assembled during the production phase of the process, then facilitating corrective action for identified issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect Fire and Emergency vehicles for option content, changes, and workmanship issues.
  • Determine root cause of issues, then, utilizing coworkers, suppliers, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, product management, and order management, develop corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers of all departments.
  • Record and monitor metrics.
  • Plan and execute assignments in accordance with established time constraints.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 plus years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate Degree in a related field.
  • Previous visual inspection and/or testing experience
  • Experience with quality tools, problem solving, and/or continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and statistics.
  • Sound judgment and analytical skills to enable assessment of risk.
  • Extensive knowledge of Pierce product, processes, information systems.
  • Proficient computer experience
  • Ability to interpret sales, engineering, production and/or quality documentation from current and previous orders.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodical, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to work safely, effectively, and independently while handling multiple tasks.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in department 528.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently ascend/descend ladders and steps to access areas of vehicles.
  • Maintain balance while working atop vehicles.
  • Constantly position self by kneeling, crouching, crawling or reaching to access areas of the vehicle.
  • Maintain a stationary position for 50% of shift.
