Job summary

OhioMet in Elyria, Ohio, is seeking a Floor Inspector for 2nd/3rd shift to join our Quality Department. You will inspect heat-treated loads, verify hardness and case depth, document results, and ensure every order meets customer and internal standards before shipment.

You will read routers, pull samples, review SCADA/SpecView data, use VisualShop ERP, prepare certifications, and coordinate with production to maintain flow. Training provided; hands-on role with direct impact on quality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect heat-treat loads and verify quality requirements before shipment.
• Perform hardness testing and verify case depth per job specs.
• Read routers to determine inspection points and sample locations.
• Pull samples, inspect parts, and document results.
• Review furnace data via SCADA / SpecView systems.
• Use VisualShop ERP to verify and record inspection activity.
• Prepare certifications for outgoing shipments.
• Identify and handle nonconforming material and MRB coordination.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and communicate concerns.
• Coordinate with production to keep work flowing smoothly.
