Job summary

OhioMet seeks a Metallurgical Lab Technician for the 2nd shift in Elyria, Ohio to inspect heat-treated components and perform lab evaluations ensuring parts meet customer specs and internal standards.

You'll document results in company systems, review microstructures against references, and help prioritize inspection work to support production. This hands-on role offers training and growth in a stable manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong math skills and basic computer proficiency.
• High attention to detail and the ability to make quality decisions.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect heat-treated parts for quality and conformance to specs.
• Perform dimensional, hardness, microhardness, and microstructure evaluations.
• Document inspection results in company systems.
• Review microstructures against reference images and requirements.
• Prioritize inspection work to support production schedules.
• Communicate quality concerns to supervisors and QA personnel.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
