Job summary

AMETEK is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to support investigation and resolution of quality problems across supplier, production, and design domains. You will advocate for customers, monitor inspections, and drive corrective actions using MRP/ERP data.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical degree required.
• 3-5 years related experience; or combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts across the organization.
• Proficiency reading blueprints and material specs.
• Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9000 standards required.
• Lean and Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, PPAP, DFMEA, DOE, SPC, GR&R, CPk).
• Experience with mechanical inspection tools and gauges.
• Willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Respond to design, production, and customer quality issues on the lines.
• Resolve production problems related to process errors and non-conforming parts.
• Interface with Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Product/Sustaining Engineering, and Production Inventory Control.
• Monitor self-release of products and first article inspections.
• Review manufacturing instructions for completeness and accuracy.
• Oversee supplier audits and corrective action systems.
• Advocate for the customer to ensure satisfaction with quality issues.
• Assist with inspection procedures and data analysis.
• Conduct laboratory evaluations and prepare reports.
• Utilize MRP/ERP for data collection and incident resolution.
• Handle RMAs including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
