The Quality Engineering Technician will be a key member of the quality and manufacturing engineering teams, responsible for analyzing and resolving quality issues related to parts and components. This role involves the use of engineering drawings and schematics to identify and address problems, as well as creating and implementing manufacturing process improvements to enhance product quality and performance. Quality improvements are a priority for this role, with key outcomes including customer on-time delivery and cell productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and resolve quality issues at the part and component level using engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Use experimentation to accelerate permanent counter measure implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the engineering, materials, and manufacturing teams, to identify root causes of quality problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements to enhance product quality and performance, prioritizing quality improvements.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Document and report findings, providing recommendations for process improvements.
  • Assist in the design and development of new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in manufacturing engineering.
  • Support both manufacturing and service teams in achieving operational goals.
  • Utilize operation applications and internal systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Serve as a key communication vehicle between the frontline team and other teams supporting problem resolution, facilitating effective information flow and collaboration.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
  • 2 or more years of experience in equivalent field
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, and quality control principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong troubleshooting capability and acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for analysis and documentation.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work efficiently in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • Must be able to assemble facts from various areas, analyze data, and provide informed recommendations to management on proposed solutions
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to manufacturing and quality control.
  • Electro-mechanical device verification/validation testing
  • Hardware electrical test and verification
  • Gas detection equipment experience
  • Basic operational knowledge of Oracle, Salesforce, JIRA and Windchill

Working Conditions

  • This position may require occasional travel to supplier or customer sites.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Pay Range

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 65,100.00 - 120,900.00
