Precision Custom Components (PCC), now part of BWXT, is seeking a talented Quality Engineering Specialist I to join our team at the York, PA facility. This is an on-site position reporting to our manufacturing facility in York, PA.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations to support quality processes, assist in resolving issues, and help ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Experience in a quality role within a heavy manufacturing environment with supplier QC.
• Ability to review certificates of compliance and manage supplier records.

Responsibilities

• Implement contract quality requirements through purchase orders.
• Review and disposition material certification documentation and interact with purchasing to resolve discrepancies.
• Perform source inspection/surveillance at suppliers' facilities to verify PO requirements.
• Interface/train supplier personnel to ensure QA compliance.
• Prepare trip reports documenting activities and issues.
• Assist in resolving inspection problems related to supplier QC processes.
• Assist with maintenance of Approved Suppliers List.
• Assist with preparation of history books and supplier documentation.
• Serve as the customer contact for quality issues related to material certifications.
• Assist other departments in identifying supplier quality issues using data.
• Attend critical meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Precision Custom Components (PCC), now part of BWXT, is seeking a talented Quality Engineering Specialist I to join our team. This is an on‑site position reporting to our manufacturing facility in York, PA.

At PCC, you’ll collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support quality processes, assist in resolving issues, and help ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.

This position supports quality engineering activities with increasing independence, including documentation, inspections, and data analysis. The Quality Engineering Specialist I contributes to problem‑solving efforts and supports quality planning under the direction of Quality Engineers.

Primary Responsibilities of the Quality Engineering Specialist I:

• Implement contract quality requirements through the incorporation of pass down requirements in purchase orders.
• Review and disposition material certification documentation and/or certificates of compliance. Interact with purchasing department and supplier personnel to resolve any discrepancies.
• Perform source inspection/surveillance at suppliers’ facility to assure purchase order requirements have been satisfied.
• Interface/train supplier personnel to ensure compliance with quality assurance requirements.
• Prepare trip reports documenting performed activities and identifying issues and non‑compliance.
• Assist in the resolution of inspection problems related to supplier inspection process and planning.
• Assist with maintenance of Approved Suppliers List
• Assist with the preparation of history books and resolve supplier issues associated with this documentation.
• Serve as the customer contact with respect to quality issues related to the material certification documentation.
• Assist other departments in identification of supplier quality issues based on historical and statistical evaluations.
• Attend critical meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Education:

Associate degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience in a heavy manufacturing industry.

Experience:

Experience in a quality role/function in a manufacturing environment with supplier quality control.
