Job summary

Resilient Structures is seeking a Quality Engineering Specialist to implement QA/QC procedures in a manufacturing setting. You will mentor staff, drive continual improvement, and ensure conformance with ISO audits and QMS standards.

The role emphasizes data-driven problem solving, process control, and liaison with production and engineering teams to maintain product quality across all stages of manufacturing. On-site in Utah, with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in quality or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Training in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, QMS, and ISO auditing.
  • Proficient in MS Office and engineering software, including Minitab.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support for manufacturing and supports staff on quality issues
  • Supports other quality team members by providing training, instruction, and open communication that promotes a positive work environment focused on continual improvement
  • Support quality goals and objectives along with activities to identify, explain and resolve quality issues
  • Establish new procedures and methods as required to meet manufacturing quality requirements.
  • Develop and execute plans for quality and control to ensure constant manufacturing continuity and product conformance
  • Ability to generate data driven reports and presentations and effectively communicate within small meetings and large audiences
  • Provides effective and timely disposition of all in-process and finished product, and raw materials
  • Ensures the quality of purchased parts and raw material through receiving inspection and supplier development
  • Supports new product development and performance improvements through Quality lab
  • Tracks internal and customer concerns and lead corrective action teams in determining root causes and applicable countermeasures for improvements
  • Monitors process and product variance and advises production and engineering staff of deviations in same and participates in corrective action development
  • Reviews critical product characteristics and recommends modifications to process, products or quality standards as warranted
  • Develop and execute statistical process controls utilizing apt quality tools plus statistical techniques
  • Supports system of communication and document control within the organization
  • Involved as internal auditor for ISO: 9001:2015 process audits of the RS Quality Management Systems
  • Maintains Quality Control records and Certification files
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles where appropriate, in support of the Business Maturity Assessment, to drive improvements in process safety, quality, and costs

THE OPPORTUNITY

Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineering Specialist implements procedures and methods to meet the production facility manufacturing quality requirements. He or she also provides mentoring and is a technical resource for the production, production support and engineering staff. As a member of the RS team, this position will support an organizational culture that promotes adherence to the RS core values of safety, respect, resilience, and teamwork.

What You Bring

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Industrial production environment
  • Hot & humid areas within the plant
  • Interaction with heavy machinery, moving equipment and limited movement of chemicals within the production area

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work safely in the assigned work environment.
