Job summary

Resilient Structures is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Shift Lead to manage a QA team on the designated shift and safeguard product quality across the manufacturing process.

You will supervise QA inspectors and Lab Technicians, ensure training, and assist in scheduling quality personnel while maintaining accurate quality records and documentation in support of RS standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Two to five years' experience in a quality role in a production environment preferred.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant quality standards and regulations preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and quality management software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of QA inspectors and Quality Lab Technicians on the designated shift.
  • Ensure team members are properly trained and have resources to perform their duties.
  • Assist with scheduling quality department personnel on their shift.
  • Monitor and assess product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify deviations from standards.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Maintain records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
  • Communicate quality trends and initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Escalate critical quality concerns for resolution strategies.
  • Conduct quality tests on finished resin batches and raw materials per RS specs.
  • Perform incoming inspections and tests of raw materials.
  • Support pre-production and shipping inspections.
  • Maintain electronic and physical quality records.
  • Report discrepancies to Quality Manager.
  • Serve as backup for other quality positions.
  • Prepare and submit quality reports and documentation.
  • Assist in updating quality documentation and SOPs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that team members are properly trained and have the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assist the Quality Manager/Supervisor with scheduling quality department personnel on their shift.
  • Monitor and assess product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify deviations from quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with established quality control procedures and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
  • Communicate effectively with production supervisors, operators, and other stakeholders regarding quality issues, trends, and improvement initiatives.
  • Escalate critical quality concerns to the Quality Supervisor or Manager to collaborate on resolution strategies.
  • Conduct quality tests on all finished resin batches and raw materials to maintain product quality by following RS specifications.
  • Performs and records incoming inspection and tests of raw materials.
  • Conduct other pre-production, final product, and shipping inspections.
  • Maintain both electronic and hard copies of quality records.
  • Inform Quality Manager of any discrepancies in tests or inspections.
  • Serve as backup for other quality positions.
  • Prepare and submit quality reports to the Quality Manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and revision of quality documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Training / Qualifications
