Job summary

Royal is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to oversee its team of Quality Engineers, driving audits, onboarding new manufacturing programs, and defining quality requirements for facilities, equipment and product. The role includes leading process reviews, document control, and vendor audits in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Formal education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Internal or External auditing - minimum 1 year. Quality Product Review - minimum 1 year.
  • Quality Requirements (GD&T) - minimum 1 year.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with common office software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Quality Engineers and auditing activities (internal and external).
  • Lead onboarding of new manufacturing programs by capturing quality requirements for facility, equipment and product.
  • Develop and maintain report templates to meet customer specifications.
  • Audit planning, supplier/vendor approval, and document control.
  • Drive continuous improvement with Manufacturing Engineering and Production, including training.

Essential Functions

The Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing Royal's team ofQuality Engineers. Additional duties include many elements involving materialsand processes (M&P) along with auditing responsibilities, both internal andexternal industry and customer audits. Leading new project onboarding throughcapturing the quality requirements for facility, equipment and product. Otheraspects of the job would require planner, contract, disposition, specification,and process review/implementation. Leadership of quality processes andactivities.

  • Process requirement identification.
  • Effectively represent Quality in the onboarding of new manufacturing programs
  • Creating and maintaining report template design required by the customerspecifications.
  • Identification of test methods and training of internal personnel on properprocedures and reporting.
  • Knowledgeable and understanding of customer specifications and requirements.
  • Responsible for internal audit activities including shop floor verificationaudits and internal work instruction audits.
  • Participate in external customer and industry related audit activities.
  • Write or revise various quality documents.
  • Direct involvement with auditors on site.
  • Auditing and approving vendors/suppliers.
  • Research Quality Requirements for upcoming jobs.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts with Manufacturing Engineering andProduction.
  • Lead and manage implementation plans on behalf of Quality includingoverseeing training, and specialty skill implementation.
  • Review and approve Engineering planning to ensure Quality requirements arebeing met.
  • Travel by vehicle and airplane for auditing.
Work Qualifications
  • Formal education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Internal or External auditing - minimum 1 year. Quality ProductReview - minimum 1 year. Quality Requirements (GD&T) - minimum 1 year.
  • Computer Skills: Must be able to use common office software systems.
  • Certificates and Licenses: None required.
