Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Quality Engineer Manager – Level 1 in Commerce, CA to lead a team and drive quality evaluation and control systems for materials processing. The role is 100% onsite with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off.

The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with relevant experience and involves collaboration with engineering and manufacturing to uphold quality standards. Competitive salary and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP and government standards).
• Ability to communicate, manage and achieve site tactical and strategic goals for assigned value stream.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team within the larger organizational unit, responsible for daily operations of a team (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day-to-day workflow, and operating costs).
• Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
• Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
• Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
• May specialize in the areas of design, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
• May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
