Job summary

Komatsu's Quality Engineering Internship Program provides engineering students with hands-on experience in a structured learning environment during a 12-week period. Interns will support continuous improvement initiatives, learn quality systems and data analysis, and work with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, supply chain, and operations to develop practical skills.

Shadowing experienced engineers, contributing to root cause analyses, and developing dashboards with Excel/Power BI are key

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in an engineering program at a 4-year college.
• Ability to apply academic knowledge to real-world environments.
• Experience from work-study, leadership, clubs, or organizations.
• Strong written and verbal communication; multitasking; teamwork.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power BI; data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and collaborate with experienced quality engineers on real projects.
• Support quality improvement by analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Assist with root cause investigations, corrective actions, process audits, and problem‑solving activities.
• Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and metrics using Excel, Power BI, and other analytical tools.
• Work cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Operations teams.
