Job summary

Piston Automotive in Toledo, OH, is seeking a Quality Intern to support the quality operation system (QOS) across manufacturing processes, materials, and products. You will assist with APQP for new product launches, uphold ISO and IATF guidelines, maintain operator work instructions, and help create or revise procedure documents, audits, and daily quality tracking to drive continuous improvement.

Summary

The Quality Intern supports activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of the quality operation system (QOS) for manufacturing processes, materials, and products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and actively participate in the APQP process for new product launch.
• Support all ISO/IATF guidelines.
• Maintain operator work instructions.
• Helps initiates standards, including revising check sheets and inspection.
• Track and analyze daily scrap.
• Participates in problem solving activities and continuous improvement efforts as it relates to customer satisfaction and quality improvement.
• Track and report quality performance.
• Ability to conduct audits.

Qualifications

• Pursuing and Associate or Bachelor’s degree from college or university in Engineering or a related field.
• Effective oral communication skills (able to communicate clearly with customer, co-workers and suppliers)
• Previous experience in creating or the ability to create procedure documents.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
