Job summary

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in engineering or manufacturing.
  • 2+ years quality engineering in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with statistical, spreadsheet, word-processing, and database software.
  • ASQ certification a plus.

Job Title

Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Job Details

Reporting to Quality Engineering Manager and stationed onsite in Torrance, CA. The role offers a 9/80 schedule option.

Responsibilities
  • Play an integral part on program teams in meeting contractual requirements and driving crucial quality‑related decisions for customers such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Airbus, and Sikorsky for both commercial and military aircraft.
  • Act as the Moog liaison and representative to support Government (FAA and DCMA) initiatives, audits and requirements.
  • Support production by conducting QE studies, recommending design changes and providing quality support to manufacturing & assembly personnel.
  • Activities will include failure analysis, root‑cause and corrective‑action analysis, risk mitigation, material review, customer & governmental interface, audit‑support configuration control, traceability and audit support.
  • Develop Quality plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing operations, assembly & test processes and final inspection.
  • Optimize inspection costs and prevent losses due to failure through statistical analysis and problem solving.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of professional work experience in engineering or manufacturing.
  • 2+ years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with statistical, spreadsheet, word‑processing, and database software packages.
  • Specialized technical knowledge of mechanical, electro‑mechanical, hydro‑mechanical components as well as manufacturing assembly and functional test methods.
  • Ability to support quality‑related issues to drive program success and to convey confidence to customers during frequent interactions.
  • ASQ certification is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of quality engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with AS9100 standards.

Salary

Torrance, CA: $90,000.00–$120,000.00 annually.
