  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (CQE is a plus).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing/assembly.
  • Experience with QMS and ISO audits.
  • Proven track record leading continuous improvement initiatives (lean a plus).
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Minitab and GD&T reading.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

  • Measures supplier quality and ensures incoming materials meet standards.

  • Develops Quality Department capabilities through process improvements and training.
  • Monitors KPIs, reports outcomes, and proposes new measurement approaches.

Purpose: The Quality Engineer Supervisor leads root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts at Kinetico as they relate to sourcing, production, assembly, and voice of customer (VOC). A balance between short and long-term results is required and entails supporting daily production activities while assisting the Quality Manager with planning and execution of longer-term objectives.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Evaluates non-conformance in internal manufacturing (molding, assembly, shipping), identifies root cause, and leads improvement efforts through collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Measures supplier quality, delivery, and cost against performance expectations, advises and leads improvement activities to ensure incoming materials meet or exceed standards.
  • Serves on cross functional product development teams providing expertise and evaluation in support of attainment of quality goals in all product lines.
  • Analyzes product returns in conjunction with the Product Specialist recognizing voice of the customer experiences to assess product failures, identify root cause and lead performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assists in the development of all Quality Department team members through quality process improvements, adoption of industry standard best practices and consequent training.
  • Increases the effectiveness of the Quality Department by measuring performance to internal key performance indicators (KPIs), interpreting results, introducing new measurements to improve on performance expectations, preparing reports and communicating outcomes.
  • Utilizes a solid metrology approach to design and source gages and other methods of measurement for new and existing products to achieve goals of quality and consistency.
  • Assists in the on-going development and improvement of the Kinetico Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Collaborates with all necessary stakeholders both internal and external to achieve quality and company business goals.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline [Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is a plus].
  • A minimum of (5) years of experience as a QE in a manufacturing and/or assembly environment (experience with plastic injection molding is a plus).
  • Experience with QMS (quality system certification is a plus) is required.
  • ISO Audit & Training experience required.
  • A minimum of (2) years’ experience as a Supplier Development Engineer or in a similar sourcing support role.
  • Strong experience leading continuous improvement projects and initiatives (a proven track record with lean is a plus).
  • Demonstrated success leading both large and small quality improvement projects and initiatives using project management principles (PMI certification is a plus).
  • Strong computer and software skills in all MS Office products; Minitab and CMM experience is highly desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints in a traditional format as well as GD&T.
  • Ability to use various measurement instruments to generate data for studies (CMM experience is a plus).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
Organizational Context

The Quality Engineer Supervisor reports to the Quality Manager. Internally, the role interacts with all areas of production, product development and engineering, and supply chain. They directly manage a team of Quality Assurance Technicians. Externally, the Quality Engineer works with suppliers and is engaged on customer concerns and feedback.
