Job summary

Hydro Extrusions North America is seeking a Quality Engineer Supervisor to lead QA/QC activities, supervise a team, and drive process improvements across production lines. The role blends hands-on quality engineering with leadership responsibilities, reporting to the Quality Manager.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, at least 3 years in a manufacturing quality role, and experience with CAPA and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (required).
• At least 3 years of experience in a quality role within manufacturing (required).
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and influence teams in a fast-paced production setting (preferred).
• Experience with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in Quality Engineering (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Quality Technicians, CMM Technicians, and Receiving Inspectors.
• Develop inspection and sampling techniques and quality control plans.
• Maintain departmental procedures and QA documentation.
• Lead 8D investigations and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce scrap and improve efficiency.
• Plan workflow in the Quality Lab and ensure timely calibrations and testing.
• Report measurement data and trends to support quality decisions.

Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer Supervisor leads quality assurance and control activities to ensure products meet defined specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. This role blends hand‑on quality engineering expertise with leadership responsibility, including team supervision, process improvement, lab oversight, and cross‑functional collaboration.This position reports to the Quality Manager.

What you will be doing

• Supervise and train Quality Technicians, CMM Technicians, and Receiving Inspectors, including timecard verification, attendance and time‑off management and approval.
• Assist in the development of inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans, or process control procedures that will ensure production of finished products that meet quality specifications and standards.
• Assist in the development of departmental procedures, including updating and distributing manuals and other documents.
• Maintain receiving, in process, and outbound inspection procedures and techniques.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product and process quality, reduce scrap and enhance efficiency.
• Plan workflow through the Quality Lab including MSA requirements, weld evaluation, dimensional measurement and calibrations to be completed on time per required schedules.
• Follow up on production problems related to quality.
• Work with the Engineering Department on old and new projects to assure proper capability.
• Lead and participate in 8D investigations for internal and customer non‑conformances to implement permanent corrective action.
• Perform machine capability studies and R&R evaluations on check gauges.
• Approve setup samples.
• Ensure compliance on all test methods, documentation, and records.
• Accurately report and trend data measurement results as needed.
• Assist with processing and charge backs for supplier responsible nonconforming material.
• Conduct internal quality audits to ensure procedures are being followed in compliance with ISO/TS.

What will make you successful?

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field. (required)

• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and influence teams in a fast‑paced production driven setting.(preferred)
• Prior experience in quality assurance and/or a supervisory role. (preferred)
• Experience with corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) in Quality Engineering. (preferred)
