Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Quality Engineer to apply quality principles across design, incoming material, production control, and product evaluation. You will collaborate with program management, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure quality standards and lead failure investigations and corrective actions.

Required are strong analytical skills, AS9100 knowledge, GD&T understanding, and experience with Minitab/Tableau, plus Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Root cause analysis and corrective action planning experience required.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections.
• Strong statistical and data analytics skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for quality standards development.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Six Sigma certification preferred (Green Belt/Black Belt).
• Experience with data visualization tools (Minitab, Tableau, Business Objects).

Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Engages in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs.

Basic Qualifications

• Advanced understanding and experience completing root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
• Knowledgeable of AS9100 standard and experience with reviewing or performing AS9102 First Article Inspections.
• Advanced understanding of statistical and data analytic skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for development of quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for inspection and test of manufactured products.
• An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Desired Skills

• 5+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified
• Experience with Minitab, Tableau, and Business Objects for data analytic/dashboard creation.
• F-35 production operations experience
• Experience with Low Observable (LO) Finishes/Coating
• Technology and/or processes
• Experience with Product-Quality methods either from the quality or manufacturing perspective
• Ability to effectively navigate complex product and process-related requirements to validate nonconformances and develop corrective actions in coordination with DCMA and Production colleagues
• Experience with Microsoft Office Systems, Shop Floor Manager (SFM) or similar manufacturing management systems, Product Data Management (PDM) or similar engineering database, APRISO Documentation System (Discrepancy Reports) or similar system
• American Society for Quality (ASQ): Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQOE) certification
• Excellent interpersonal skills needed for collaboration, communication, and presentations
• Conduct/coordinate process and product evaluations and assessments

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00
