A staffing and recruiting firm is seeking a Quality Engineer for spacecraft testing in Rochester, NY. The role involves ensuring compliance during Engineering Validation Testing, documenting nonconformances, and assisting with operational tasks. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's in Engineering and have 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience, preferably in Aerospace. Strong RCCA and communication skills are essential. This is a 3-month contract position with typical hours M–F, 7 AM–4 PM.

Overview

Title: Quality Engineer – Spacecraft Testing

Duration: 3 Months Contract

Shift: M–F, 7 AM–4 PM

We’re seeking a Quality Engineer (QE) to support Engineering Validation Testing (EVT) for spacecraft, including Thermal Vacuum, Dynamic, Propulsion, and EMI testing. This role may require off-shift, weekend, and overtime work to support 24/7 test operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with procedures and customer requirements during EVT.
• Support pre-/post-test reviews, ensuring setups, calibrations, and signoffs are complete.
• Document and disposition nonconformances/test flags in TIPQA/JIRA.
• Assist with operational tasks (e.g., solar array integration, installations, bus movements).
• Participate in daily planning/updates with customer and cross-functional teams.
• Lead/support RCCA activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering + 3+ years’ Quality Engineering experience (Aerospace preferred).
• Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001, QMS procedures, and customer contract compliance.
• Strong RCCA, communication, and technical presentation skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings/electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; EVT experience strongly preferred.
