Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Quality Assurance/Quality Control professional to lead QA initiatives across manufacturing operations, applying Six Sigma and Lean methods to drive improvement.

You will analyze issues, perform root cause analysis, interpret engineering drawings and standards (AISC, ASTM, AWS), collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and customers, maintain control plans and metrics, support audits, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, Associate's degree with 5+ years, or 9+ years of related experience.
• Experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, SPC, process capability, Minitab (or equivalent), PFMEA, MSA, and root cause analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Engineering degree (Industrial or Mechanical preferred).
• Manufacturing experience, particularly in metals fabrication and structural welding.
• Experience with AISC, ISO, DOT requirements, and auditing agencies.
• Advanced Six Sigma certification (Green, Black, or Master Black Belt).
• NDT experience (VT, MT, UT).
• Experience supporting transmission, distribution, lighting, communication, or substation products.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in manufacturing environments, and perform field work while wearing required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality assurance and quality control initiatives across manufacturing operations.
• Lead quality improvement and problem-solving initiatives using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
• Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards (AISC, ASTM, AWS, etc.).
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers to resolve quality concerns.
• Develop and maintain quality processes, metrics, control plans, and documentation.
• Support audits, customer reviews, supplier evaluations, and new product introductions.
• Travel up to 50% as needed.
