Job summary

MJ Recruiters is seeking a Quality Engineer for a fast-paced automotive supplier. The role reports to the Quality Manager and requires hands-on work on the manufacturing floor up to 50% of the day. Travels to customer sites may total up to 10% with most travel nearby.

Responsibilities include customer communication, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and supporting new model launches while using Minitab for data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; experience may be substituted for degree.
• Minimum of three years in quality engineering in automotive supplier or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Experience communicating with customers and reviewing quality documentation.
• Knowledge of FMEAs and control plans.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with key customers and serve as the quality issues contact.
• Determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
• Assist manufacturing floor with quality issues.
• Review control plans.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for customers and management.
• Assist area managers and process engineers with problem solving.
• Monitor and update portals.
• Champion formal problem solving teams.
• Complete defect analysis in a lab setting.
• Supervise the gage and SPC processes.
• Support new model launch activities.
• Utilize Minitab software.
• Take on additional responsibilities as delegated by the manager.
