Quality Engineer — Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement

Job summary

Kennametal Inc. in Orwell, Ohio, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Quality Management System for the assigned area. You will help improve customer satisfaction, monitor scrap and first-pass yield, and drive financial quality performance.

You will lead cross-functional quality improvements, analyze data, manage MRB, and support PPAP efforts. Experience with SAP and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.
• Must be able to use SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and requirements.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Six Sigma, ASQ Certification, CQE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate quality improvement efforts for targeted metrics.
• Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action using structured problem solving.
• Analyze product and process data to support improvement efforts.
• Determine when stability and capability studies are needed and verify effectiveness.
• Disposition non-conforming products and implement containment actions.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Production to resolve customer complaints using CRM and 8D.
• Support updating and auditing the ISO QMS and engage leadership for conformance.
• Participate in Internal Quality Audits and LPAs.
• Establish and maintain Process Control Plans; develop and verify MSA and FMEA.
