Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a Quality Control professional to ensure HVAC installation and fabrication meet regulatory and internal standards. You will perform site inspections, review drawings, and verify procedures are followed to achieve compliance.

The role requires experience with construction processes, OSHA regulations, and strong communication. You will maintain QA/QC documents, train staff as needed, and collaborate with project teams from kickoff to completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5 years of progressive quality control experience or relevant experience is required.
• Knowledge of construction technology, equipment, processes, and methods.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety policies.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality standards for installation of materials and products for Mechanical HVAC systems and review shop fabrications for conformance.
• Conduct job walks and site inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and contractual specs; verify testing procedures and reports.
• Document inspection results and communicate findings; identify and recommend solutions for non-compliance.
• Maintain procedural documents and conduct training as needed; review procedures for compliance.
• Collaborate with superintendents to manage licenses, renewals and compliance.
• Review project equipment specs and secure necessary permits; inform management of issues.
• Assist project teams in defining QA/QC roles and expectations before project start.
