Job summary

Fuse Integration is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our San Diego team. You will provide daily quality support to production, monitor processes, and lead investigations into defects and nonconformances.

You will coordinate MRB activities and drive supplier quality improvements, inspection/control plans, and internal audits. The role requires 3–5 years in quality engineering in an assembly environment, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to obtain an active security clearance.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in quality engineering or tech in an assembly environment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T tolerancing.
  • Experience generating quality reports and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily quality engineering support to production and manufacturing teams.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with specs and work instructions.
  • Investigate nonconformances, containment, and root cause analysis.
  • Support MRB activities and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Assist with supplier quality issues, SCARs, and corrective actions.
  • Support inspection plans, control plans, process controls, and sampling plans.
  • Participate in internal QMS and process audits and close findings.
  • Ensure quality records are complete, traceable, and compliant with QMS/AS9100.

Fuse is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our energetic and growing team! This is an opportunity to work closely with Quality Management providing reliable reports and process improvement recommendations to monitor and improve overall product quality. In this role, you will support the company’s full business quality management system and production team. What you'll do:
  • Provide daily quality engineering support to production and manufacturing teams, resolving quality issues and minimizing disruption to production schedules.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure products meet engineering specifications, drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Investigate and disposition production nonconformances, defects, and material issues, including containment and root cause analysis.
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and coordinate disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Support supplier quality issues, including supplier rejections, incoming material nonconformances, SCARs, and supplier corrective actions.
  • Support implementation of inspection plans, control plans, process controls, and sampling plans.
  • Assist with process audits, product audits, and internal QMS audits, including identification and closure of audit findings.
  • Ensure production quality records are accurate, complete, traceable, and maintained in accordance with QMS and AS9100/ISO requirements.
  • Escalate significant quality issues and provide leadership with clear communication regarding production impact, containment status, root cause, and corrective‑action progress.
We are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or High school diploma with relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years experience as a Quality Engineer or Technician in an assembly environment
  • Solid judgment to proactively identify and solve complex problems
  • Hands on experience with reading engineering drawings and interpreting technical information to include GD&T tolerancing
  • Experience with collecting data for generating quality reports
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in changing situations
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across departments and with supervisors and managers
  • Active secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance
  • US Citizen

Salary Range:

$85,000 - $105,000
