Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Quality Engineer at the Hood River facility to oversee quality activities, develop procedures, and ensure product quality for all items shipped from Hood River. The role reports to the Site Manager and collaborates with Portland’s Quality & Continuous Improvement team.

Duties include leading 8D root-cause analyses, PFMEA, and PPAP documentation; performing CMM inspections; and driving process improvements with manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO quality standards.
• Proficient with problem-solving tools (5 Whys, Ishikawa, PDCA, 8D).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, SAP preferred.
• GD&T knowledge to ASME Y14.5.
• CMM experience preferred.
• Basic CAD skills to review drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead 8D root-cause analyses and corrective actions for non-conforming products.
• Review non-conforming materials and represent BorgWarner on related issues.
• Prepare reports for upper management and customers to drive process changes.
• Develop and maintain PFMEA, Quality Plan, and Standard Work Instructions.
