Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop and maintain quality evaluation and control systems. You will devise methods for inspecting and testing, analyze processes, and manage product quality risks in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

The role requires a BS in a related science field, 0–3 years in quality engineering, familiarity with ISO 9000/AS9100, Six Sigma, SAP, and DOE. Strong communication and detail-oriented teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related discipline.
• 0-3 years experience in quality engineering role in chemical, rubber, or plastic industries preferred.
• ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate or Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt certification.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000/ AS9100.
• Knowledge of SAP 4/HANA ERP System.
• LEAN, Six Sigma methodologies knowledge.
• DOE experience and implementation.
• Experience with validation processes including TM validation and manufacturing/ cleaning validation.
• Experience with Minitab or similar statistical software desirable.
• Understanding of statistical process control principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Quality System and documentation.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Identify statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
• Drive continual improvement in Quality System.
• Develop training to build quality awareness.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, R&D and Engineering for product transfers.
• Support audits and close audit findings with cross-functional teams.
• Review SPC for products and identify process improvements.
• Assess impact of process improvements on validation and design.
