Job summary

Third Wave Systems, Inc. in Eden Prairie, MN, is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of physics-based machining simulation software. You will perform hands-on testing, analysis, and automation within a cross-functional team.

The role emphasizes independent project management, establishing testing standards, and guiding quality practices across development and DevOps. Four days per week in-office, in Eden Prairie location, with collaboration across product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field related to engineering or software testing.
• 3+ years experience in software testing, quality, or verification.
• Experience creating or executing structured test plans and documenting results.
• Programming or scripting in Python, C++, Java, JavaScript, C#, or similar.
• Experience with automated UI testing frameworks (e.g., Squish, Qt Test, Selenium).
• Ability to independently manage assigned work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and execute test scenarios for new features, enhancements, and regression testing.
• Verify physics-based machining simulation software through testing and analysis.
• Establish and promote testing standards, procedures, and best practices across teams.
• Translate requirements into test criteria and determine inputs, environments, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and maintain automated tests, scripts, and test utilities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with DevOps and developers on test infrastructure and workflows.
• Document reproduction steps and evidence for bugs; assess bug reports for impact and reproduction quality.
• Communicate test results and risks to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
