Job summary

SOMACIS, Inc. in Poway, CA is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure product quality and drive continuous improvement in a high-mix PCB manufacturing environment.

You will develop testing methods, review documentation, perform root-cause analysis, and support audits to comply with AS9100 standards. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, strong problem-solving skills, experience with SPC, and willingness to travel to supplier and customer locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; significant relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and competence in root-cause analysis.
• Broad knowledge of statistical theory, statistical process control, and inspection methods.
• Proficiency with AS9100 standards and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement testing and inspection methods for product quality.
• Review manufacturing documentation to ensure inspection criteria.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Apply SPC and structured problem-solving to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop quality reports to analyze product performance and customer satisfaction.
• Lead and participate in internal and supplier quality system audits (AS9100).
• Interface with supplier quality reps to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
