Job summary

Transcendia in Grand Rapids seeks a hands-on Quality Engineer to support operations across two facilities located at 2500 Oak Industrial Drive and 2555 Oak Industrial Drive. This role is a highly visible, on-site position requiring independent initiative and decision-making to drive quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with regular interaction with production personnel and processes.
• Experience with statistical analysis and problem-solving tools (Minitab, DOE, SPC, Pareto, capability studies, and root cause methodologies).
• Experience with electronic document management systems (e.g., SharePoint).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of quality or engineering experience in a regulated industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site quality support across two Grand Rapids facilities, traveling between locations as needed.
• Conduct inspections, testing, sampling, investigations, and audits in production environments.
• Apply data-driven methods to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and prevent recurrence of issues.
• Prioritize workload and manage multiple projects with ownership and accountability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to develop, implement, and improve quality standards and methods.
• Mentor cross-functional teams through root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Lead investigations for quality nonconformances and manage timely CAPAs.
• Analyze quality data and KPIs to identify trends and mitigate risks.
• Plan and execute test method validations.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
