Job summary

Amtec Contract in Coachella, CA, is seeking a Quality Compliance Auditor to drive ISO 9001 audits and QMS improvements within a high‑stakes defense manufacturing environment.

You will lead audit planning, CAPA actions, and data-driven improvements across cross-functional teams, ensuring 100% compliance and robust defect prevention.

Candidates with an engineering background, ISO/audit credentials, and experience with 8D, RCA, FMEA are preferred; travel 20-40%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor0s degree in Engineering or a technical field is required.
• ASQ Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor Certification preferred.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 9001 and audit methodologies.
• Experience with 8D, RCA, DMAIC, FMEA and data analysis.
• Proven track record leading QMS audits and CAPA.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual audit schedule and standards, leading internal and external QMS audits to ISO 9001 compliance.
• Issue and monitor CAPA, perform root cause analysis, and train teams to prevent defects.
• Maintain quality metrics, risk registers and executive audit reports for leadership.

TOP QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field; ASQ Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor Certification (or CQE/SQE) highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system requirements and audit methodologies.
• Hands-on mastery of 8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), DMAIC, FMEA, and data analysis to drive defect prevention.
• Proven track record leading internal/external QMS audits, managing Corrective Action Systems (CAPA), and evaluating metrics.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and eligible for U.S. Government export control authorizations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Develop the annual audit schedule, establish evaluation standards, and lead end-to-end internal and external QMS audits to ensure 100% ISO 9001 compliance.
• Issue and monitor Corrective Action Reports (CAPA), perform root cause analysis, and train cross-functional teams to eliminate defect recurrence.
• Maintain Quality Metrics, risk registers, and executive audit reports for senior leadership to support continuous improvement initiatives.
