Job summary

ContiTech USA, LLC is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern to join our Quality team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced quality professionals to improve processes, analyze data, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

This internship offers hands-on experience in manufacturing quality systems, CAPA, SPC, product testing, and cross-functional collaboration. Ideal for engineering students with a drive to learn and contribute to real-world projects.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical or related Engineering field; sophomores with GPA 2.8+.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, or continuous improvement concepts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard business tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and engage in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Legal work authorization to work in the US; no visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with quality investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing and quality data.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap and improve process capability.
  • Participate in CAPA activities.
  • Assist with inspections, audits, and documentation.
  • Help create and update work instructions, quality procedures, and SOPs.
  • Support SPC activities and reporting.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
  • Assist with product testing and validation.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Job Description
How You Will Make An Impact

ContiTech USA, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer Intern to join our Quality team. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will work alongside experienced quality professionals to improve processes, analyze data, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Engineering who are interested in manufacturing, quality systems, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with quality investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing and quality data.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on reducing scrap and improving process capability.
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Assist with inspections, audits, and documentation.
  • Help create and update work instructions, quality procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support statistical process control (SPC) activities and reporting.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Assist with product testing and validation activities.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Role
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical or a related Engineering field. Students must be at a minimum sophomore standing with a GPA 2.8 or higher.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, or continuous improvement concepts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard business tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and engage in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with data analysis or statistical software.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems.
  • Previous manufacturing or internship experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the production facility.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
