Job summary

STRATTEC SECURITY CORPORATION is seeking a Quality Engineer to standardize root cause and corrective actions, reduce scrap, and implement quality systems. You will lead QA efforts across PPAPs for components manufactured in the facility, and work with stakeholders to prioritize, plan, and deliver results.

You will guide a team of Quality Technicians, apply lean and Industry 4.0 concepts, and ensure manufacturing readiness with cost-effective, world-class solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• 2 years automotive experience.
• Computer – MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead expert root cause and corrective action activities to drive KPI improvements in scrap, labor, performance, and variation reduction.
• Lead development of standardized systems and structure for world class performance, including quality instructions, APQP documents, error proofing, and automated QC systems.
• Perform QA duties related to APQP documentation to facilitate successful component PPAP.
• Ensure consistency in parts checking, documentation, and sustainment in the facility.
• Provide design feedback for manufacturing-ready components achieving world class performance.
• Train Quality Technicians and Auditors on root cause, corrective action, and data collection.
• Monitor COQ metrics daily/weekly/monthly for opportunities.
• Lead quality problem resolution with internal/external customers to meet expectations.
• Distribute lessons learned and apply lean concepts like visual factory, standard work, kaizen, TPM.
