Job summary

AFL is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive defect elimination and strengthen product, process, and quality-system controls. You will use data and structured problem solving to reduce variation, prevent recurrence, and improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field as listed.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing/quality/process improvement experience.
• Demonstrated leadership on cross-functional defect reduction and process-improvement projects.
• Experience with structured problem solving (DMAIC, 8D, PFMEA) and statistical methods.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management system.

Responsibilities

• Analyze defect, scrap, rework, yield, and customer data to drive improvements.
• Lead containment, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and verification.
• Develop and maintain control charts and process capability studies (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk).
• Evaluate measurement systems (Gage R&R, bias, linearity, stability) for accuracy.
• Create and implement PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions, and inspection methods.
• Lead audits (internal and supplier) and support ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
• Assist new product industrialization with process qualification and readiness.
• Drive cross-functional projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
