Job summary

Textron Systems in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Quality Engineer II to perform engineering assignments advancing product quality across design, process, and supplier interfaces. You’ll develop quality plans, perform data analysis, root cause investigations, and participate in design for manufacturability during product development.

Responsibilities include interfacing with internal teams, conducting MRB disposition, and supporting program management activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical degree with 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in an AS9100 environment.
• Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Effective ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks.
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and applications.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to apply logical, scientific or analytical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
• An inquiring mind and passion for learning.
• Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
• Knowledge of Quality Engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Oracle a plus.
• This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a Secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Reviews customer contracts on simple to moderately complex projects; responsible for requirements analysis, identification and definition.
• Performs quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directives and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s).
• Interfaces with Supplier Development and Sourcing Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues.
• Participates in product development and design document reviews targeting design for manufacturability
• Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions.
• Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis etc.
• Participates in Program Management activities appropriate to the assigned project(s).
• Participates in Contract Data Requirements List development, review and delivery to the customer as required by the assigned project(s).
• Assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards
• Performs Material Review Board (MRB) disposition and tracking activities.
• Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions.
• Uses knowledge of inspection tools and techniques to define inspection requirements.
• Performs QA estimating for small to medium, less complex projects.
• Provides status inputs to the Cost Account Manager for tasks performed. May perform CAM function for small to medium projects.
