Job summary

A leading aerospace manufacturer located in Goose Creek, SC, is seeking a Quality Engineer II to perform critical engineering assignments. The role involves quality planning, data analysis, and process improvement in a dynamic team environment. The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified environment. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential for this position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in Quality Engineering.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 environment.
  • Six Sigma Lean certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality planning and activities for projects.
  • Interface with Supplier Development Engineering.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and process improvements.
  • Assist in developing fabrication processes and standards.
  • Perform Material Review Board disposition activities.

Job Description - Quality Engineer II (331741)

Quality Engineer II (Job Number: 331741)

Job Summary:

Performs Quality Engineering assignments for the Electronic Systems domain requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard Quality Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment and ingenuity in making adaptations and modifications. Work is performed on moderately complex contracts requiring independent execution within a defined set of skills or knowledge area. The Quality Engineer supports product design activities, planning for quality, production activities, data analysis and development of metrics, root cause and corrective action, and process and product improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews customer contracts on simple to moderately complex projects; responsible for requirements analysis, identification and definition.
  • Performs quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directive and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s).
  • Interfaces with Supplier Development Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues.
  • Uses knowledge of inspection tools and techniques to define inspection requirements.
  • Participates in product development and design document reviews targeting DFX
  • Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis etc.
  • Participates in Program Management activities appropriate to the assigned project(s).
  • Participates in Contract Data Requirements List development, review and delivery to the customer as required by the assigned project(s).
  • Assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards.
  • Performs Material Review Board (MRB) disposition and tracking activities.
  • Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions.
  • Provides status inputs to the Cost Account Manager for tasks performed. May perform CAM function for small to medium projects.
  • Performs QA estimating for small to medium, less complex projects.

Position Requirements:

  • Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and applications
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze specifications, drawings, procedures and schematics.
  • Ability to apply logical, scientific or analytical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.

Experience:
