Job summary

Hutchinson is seeking an entry-level quality engineer to ensure product quality and process reliability in our manufacturing environment. The role emphasizes quality focus, attention to detail, and problem solving, with exposure to APQP, TS16949, and lab testing.

You will participate in measurement, inspection planning, and data analysis using CMM equipment and other lab tools, supporting continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Supports APQP and plant deliverables.
• Develops standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
• Ensures conformance to TS16949.
• Measures and tests products and tabulates data using lab equipment.
• Conducts training on process control activities.
• Develops methods for disposition of discrepant material and corrective actions.
• Provides technical analysis for quality plans, control plans and FMEA.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA/EPA/regulatory requirements.
• Communicates with customers and coworkers daily via email/phone.

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Directly supports APQP and responsible for all plant deliverables.
• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Ensures conformance to TS16949.
• Measures and tests products and tabulates data concerning materials, products, or process quality and reliability. May direct others to perform these tasks. Uses CMM and other lab equipment.
• Conducts training sessions on process control activities.
• May develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
• Provides technical analysis in the areas of: problem solving, inspection, and test methods. Responsible for quality plans and the development of control plans, flow diagrams, FMEA process control checks and inspection procedures.
• Assures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and product quality issued by OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
• Daily communication with customers and co workers via email, phone, internet portals.
• Has responsibility and authority to prevent all Environmental and Safety nonconformities and stop any nonconforming operations until corrective action has been completed.
• Must actively support our Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, immediately report all dangerous situations and correct them when able to do so safely, participate in all required Safety Training, meetings, inspections and use all required PPE.
• Must have Customer Scorecard Training
